8 Steps To An Amazing Day

Make Today Amazing!

Some days are better than others — That’s life. And bad days help us appreciate the good ones even more. There are things you can do to make each day a little easier and brighter, though. Here are 8 things that help me and may help you, too!

1. Lay out your clothes the night before.
This one seems easy enough, right? Picking out clothes the night before for you (& your kids) will save time in the morning. It’s one less thing to figure out at the start of each day.

2. Make your bed.

Yep, just like your momma always told you to do! It may seem pointless to some, but making your bed does a couple of things. 1. It simply keeps you from getting back in bed. And 2. Making your bed is the single easiest way to make your room look tidier.

3. Make a list of 3 daily goals.
It only takes a few seconds. Jot down 3 things you want to accomplish that day. These goals don’t have to be huge plans. Maybe it’s folding the laundry or finally getting those dishes out of the sink and into the dishwasher. Maybe it’s calling an old friend you’ve lost touch with. Maybe it’s just simply to be happy. It can be anything you want. Stick to your list and once you’ve done these goals, you’ll feel accomplished at the end of your day.

4. Meal plan.

Pre make your breakfast the night before. Check out my post about an easy & healthy egg muffin recipe. You can also make a dinner menu for the week. Pinterest is a great place to find new meal ideas. Planning your meals helps relieve the stress of figuring out meals as you go and also keeps you from eating out as often. Also, the crock pot is your best friend. Use it!

5. Take a walk.

Whether it’s first thing in the morning, on your lunch break or after dinner, take at least 10 minutes to get outside and walk (or run if that’s your thing). Just a short walk does wonders for clearing your mind and boosting your mood.

6. Diffuse essential oils.

Essential oils may or may not be your thing, but diffusing certain ones can actually help your mood. Lemon, Lavender, Jasmine, Rosemary, Cinnamon & Peppermint all help boost your mood and productivity. I also love Tea Tree Oil for it’s multiple antiseptic uses. My favorite diffuser is the PureSpa Diffuser. It diffuses for up to 7 hours, changes colors and it’s super quiet. My favorite brand of oils is NOW. I’ve tried a few different brands, and this one is by far the best priced and great quality.
(*Be sure to check before diffusing certain oils if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, as some oils can actually cause contractions and others can dry up your milk supply.)

 7. Flowers
I love having fresh flowers around my house. They look nice and just have a way of cheering people up. We are still enjoying these roses from my 3 year old’s dance recital last weekend.

8. Put your phone down.

Pretty ironic coming from a blog, but putting your phone away helps you learn more about yourself and the world around you. Give your eyes a break from the screen and pay attention to the people and things in your life.

What things do you do to help make your day better? I’d love to know!
Have an AMAZING day!
