The day I’ve been waiting for and dreading all at the same time is almost here. My first baby, Ayva, is starting pre-school. The closer it gets, the more I dread it. I just want to keep my baby home with me, but I know that’s selfish. She is going three days a week, for half days, so it’s not so bad I guess. It’s going to be so great for her. I know she will love it and do amazing! It’s been so fun “back to school shopping” with her. We have all of her school supplies, a back pack, lunch box.. we’re ready. Well, she’s ready. I’m not.
I’ve also been stocking up on some fall staple clothing pieces for her wardrobe. We love finding unique little outfits from different boutiques and shops, but our go-to store for kids’ clothes is Old Navy. They have the cutest and most stylish clothes and shoes for the girls. I got most of Ayva’s fall clothing items from Old Navy last year and they were so easy to coordinate — lots of olives, mustard yellows and deep reds. I love that Old Navy keeps the kids’ clothing trendy and mimics the adult styles.
Bell-Sleeves, Boots + Leggings
One of my favorite pieces they have this year is this adorable Bell-sleeve Henley top. Are you kidding me?! Bell-sleeves on toddlers. I can’t handle it. I went ahead and picked this up in a few colors for her because I literally just can’t get enough of it.
These leggings are a repurchase for us because we loved them so much last year. We got them in multiple colors again because they are so easy to coordinate and they are super comfortable for her, which is most important to me. I have avoided actual denim jeans until recently with her because they always seem to cut into her stomach when she sits or bends over, so I still prefer leggings over jeans. (I mean, lets be real.. I prefer leggings over jeans on me, too!)
These suede fringe boots are from last fall but they actually brought this exact pair back this year. Yay! We are still squeezing into last year’s size, but may be heading back for the next size up because we really loved these and they match so many outfits.
Cardis, Camis + Jeggings
Cardigans are another really practical item to have, so we went ahead and got this one in a few colors, too. During the summer to fall transition, it’s usually cooler in the mornings but still pretty warm by mid day, so layering is a must.
Camisoles are also great for layering, too. They can be worn under cardigans during the fall and as the months get colder, you can layer them under regular tops for warmth.
I love these Jersey Leggings so much! They are the perfect dark denim shade. I probably should get at least one more pair since they match literally all of her tops.
We got these shoes sometime last spring, but Old Navy has so many new flats in right now to choose from!
Check out that pose!
Here’s that Bell-sleeve Henley top again, in ‘winter wine’ this time. I want one in my size!
This Hooded Peplum-Hem Anorak jacket is the perfect little light jacket for cooler weather. This color is called ‘Money Maker’. There is also a light plum color called ‘Squid’, but I’m a sucker for olive, so we went with this one.
So I guess we are all set for her first day of school, now. I’m so excited for her!
