Being a mother of two, almost three, leaves me very little time for self-care and pampering. I definitely have to plan way ahead whenever I want to get a haircut or manicure. I can’t remember the last time I stepped foot in an actual spa; probably when my husband and I were dating.
Luckily, there is this awesome little brand of at home spa masks, called Que Bella. They are sold at Target, which is great since I’m in there pretty regularly. They’re only about $2.50 or less each, so I always pick up a few of them while I’m getting my Target on.
I decided to try the charcoal mud mask because I’ve heard charcoal masks are great for tackling larger pores and my nose pores can get on another level sometimes. I usually get at least 2 uses out of these packets. I don’t think they’re intended for multiple uses, but there is just way more product in each packet than needed for one use. (not complaining!)
This picture isn’t creepy at all, right? My kids were pretty terrified of me. My three year old actually asked me if it was Halloween. Kids are fun!
The only prep involved is making sure your face is clean and a little damp. I usually gently exfoliate before applying my masks, just to really give my skin a good pamper sesh. I apply it all over my face, avoiding my eyes and mouth. Ideally, next I would go lay down with a pair of cucumbers on my eyes while listening to Michael Bublé, but instead I get to referee my kids while they “play” (fight) with each other. You take what you can get, amirite?
So after about 15 minutes or so of pretending to be a Halloween witch for my kids, I then just rinsed my face clean. Done! Not exactly your typical relaxing spa visit, but maybe you’ll be lucky enough to soak in a nice bubble bath with your mask on. Either way, you will LOVE how soft and smooth your skin feels afterwards. Que Bella also has a variety of sheet masks, overnight masks and mask peels. If you haven’t tried these yet, you should!
